The Moo Bar, a Lightweight, customizable javascript
bar for blog networks (or whatever)

Ever wanted to have a network toolbar on your website or network of sites? Well, your search ends here. The Moo Bar is a simple, framework independent (meaning it doesn't require jQuery, Mootools, YUI, Prototype, etc.) javascript toolbar you can embed on your website with a single line of code. This page shows an example of the toolbar attached to the bottom of your browser window.

Download, Customize, Upload, and Install

  1. Download the files!
  2. Edit the variables in moobar.js to reflect your own data. The file is commented with special instructions to make it super easy. Make sure you edit the unordered list to include the links for the menu that you would like to use.
  3. Edit the images in /moobar/images/ to look the way you want. I would recommend keeping them the same size to avoid styling/functionality issues.
  4. Upload the folder to the base URL you set in your Javascript file.
  5. Embed the Javascript bar into each site using the following code (make sure to replace the path with the one you've uploaded the files to):
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/moobar/moobar.js"></script>

If you do happen to use this code, please let us know in the comments and we'd love to link to your site as an example of the network bar in use.
